"Cold Commute - Rockville Centre"
Today's image is another in the series I shot during my train ride into Manhattan for work Sunday, during the first few hours of a blizzard. I wanted to capture the feeling of motion, with the blurred trees in the foreground, and a (relatively) sharp focus of the location. The artistic challenge was to come up with a well composed image, while moving at about 40 mph - and without being able to see what was going to come through the viewfinder.
I have two other pictures from Sunday's commute to share:
"Rockville Centre Station Window"
This image is of a track-level, waiting room window - photographed while at the Rockville Centre LIRR station - through an ice-blurred train window that I was shooting through.
"Approaching Valley Stream"
This last image is the final picture from my commute that I'll be posting. I have a few that I shot later in the day - of Rockefeller Plaza, as seen from the Today Show studio at NBC - that I'll be posting soon, beginning with tomorrow's Picture of the Day.
