"Sunday Sunrise in Black and White"

          I don't believe I've ever posted a photo of a sunrise in black and white before (aside from the picture I posted Sunday - titled "Sunday in the Park with Swans - which isn't really 'of' a sunrise) either here or on deviantART - where I've been posting pictures, photo manipulations and digital artwork for almost 5 years now. But for some reason, photos I shot of Sunday morning's skies just weren't cutting it for me, in color. So, instead, I tried desaturating my favorite shot - of the 7 or so I took. The picture above is the result.

To me, it's a much more dramatic image than the color version. But you don't have to take my word for it - you can decide for yourself. Here's the full color version:

          To be honest, now that I've previewed both of these images
(as they'll appear on this blog once it's posted) I like them both equally; equally, but differently - kind of the same way in which parents love their children, if they have more than one. So as the progenitor of these photos, maybe I'm not the best judge of which is "Best". As with my fraternal twin daughters, Caitlin and Cristin, I love them both equally. Never could I pick one over the other as my favorite. Even though they differ, I love them both equally.
