                     "West End Stairs 3"



          While this is not the exact same staircase as the one I featured as Pictures of the Day for the last two days, it is only about 50' east of that location, at the LIRR train staion in Seaford, N.Y. The entire elevated platform, including the staircases and the enclosed waiting room, was completely rebuilt starting March 3rd of 2008. The work also included a new overhead canopy, escalators and, for the first time at this station, an elevator, and was finally completed in the summer of '09.
