"Ganesha: Lord of Success - #8"
This is the last photo in this series. Here you can see two of the four statues that guard the entrance to this 14.68 acre estate. Here's a Google Maps street level view of this same entrance, obviously before it was redesigned and landscaped; and here's how it looks now, in the current satellite view.
As I was writing the above, I was interrupted (while running the lighting board for a live news show) by a call from the Huntington Arts Council, the gellery where two of my photos have been selected for inclusion in this Friday's Opening Night Reception. It's my first-ever juried photography show; and I just found out that one of the prints I had matted and framed - and personally delivered there yesterday morning, before going to work - is the wrong image! Instead of Curbside Cubism #1, which is the first picture I was told had been selected, the juror will be expecting to see 996 Crooked Lead #10 - which is a completely different photograph, not even remotely like the cubism. So now I'm scrambling, trying to get the correct picture printed, matted, framed and delivered to the gallery by Friday morning, while I'm stuck here at work tonight and my car is in the shop until tomorrow afternoon. Fortunately, I can use Sally's minivan tommorrow morning to drive to Huntington (to pick up the "wrong" picture) and then take it to Abbot Art - where the owner, Rashid, will print, mat and re-frame the "correct" photo. I first found Rashid and Abbot Art in December, and I highly recommend his company, and the services he provides!
