The ninth image in this series from Alhambra Marine Repairs in Seaford, NY. This business is located within Four Corners Marina, which is part and parcel of the combined boatyard and docks. Conveniently located just a short boatride away, from the open waters of South Oyster Bay, with Jones Beach State park to the west and Robert Moses State Park on Fire Island off to the east.
I've now spent nearly four years living here (under the green arrow in the linked-to Google Map), just a stone's throw away from this marina, and this is my fourth summer of living on the water - and my third with a boat! That first summer in '08, living without a boat in a boater's paradise, was torture. I've been playing 'catch-up' ever since, but now with a renewed effort (as time off allows) because of the impending doom looming over our vanishing lifestyle: The first of 11 planned luxury homes has been built on the grounds of "my" marina, and it's only a matter of time till the 12 of us who still reside here will be forced to re-locate. There aren't many options as to where to go, but I'm still hopeful of winning big in the lottery. That way I could purchase my own little piece of paradise...
