New Day Dawning
After a day's drought of new posts - due to a malfunctioning desktop at home (discovered Sunday night) and a netbook left at work (on Sunday afternoon) - I fully intended on posting a new image as Picture of the Day today; but due to the fact that I grabbed the wrong Compact Flash card this afternoon, before leaving for work, I have to improvise with an image I first shared online nearly four years ago.
This photo was captured from the back deck of my housebarge, during my first summer of living on South Oyster Bay in Seaford, New York. In the 6+ years I've been uploading images to deviantART, this is my twelfth most favorited photograph, out of 2,500+ captures posted there. Here's the caption that ran with this image:

An early morning view from my back deck.
Some days it doesn't suck a lot to be me.
On other days, well, it just couldn't suck any more.
Today's one of those days...
I'm heartbroken again,
for the second - and last - time in two weeks:
Both times were by the same woman, but it won't happen again.
It wasn't until another thirteen months had passed that my search for true love came to fruition. I still love you, baby.
