A Boardwalk View
Looking southwest, towards the ocean and the Fire Island community of Point O' Woods - the oldest continually established summer community on Fire Island, and the most beautiful - from the boardwalk at Sunken Forest. Part of the Fire Island National Seashore, this view from atop the secondary dune line includes other sections of the boardwalk, as well as the primary line of dunes - which protect the rest of the island from the Atlantic Ocean.
