Progeditor of Trotters
What the town fathers (and/or mothers) of Chester are most proud of is their Neufchaltel cheese and the siring of Hambletonian - the progenitor of horses trained for harness racing - whoever manufactured this sign should not be proud of, here in the Orange County, NY town we now live in, is their lack of proofreading. They could use a pro-editor: if you look closely, you can see that the d in the word progenitor was painted over, after this was created. Someone did catch the mistake at some point, though: The d was changed to an n with a little creative, corrective painting.
