"40 Wall Street"
Photographed from the 60th floor
of 1 Chase Manhattan Plaza.
One fringe benefit of being a free-lance stagehand is getting access to places that not everyone can freely visit. I worked a corporate event yesterday, for JPMorgan Chase, on the 60th floor of 1 Chase Plaza in lower Manhattan. We started loading in and setting up our gear at 9 am, and didn't leave until the truck was finally packed and on its' way back to the shop - with the lighting package rental from Scharff Weisberg - shortly before midnight.
I had my camera with me, as it has become a standard component of my work bag: I never know when I'll have a great photo opportunity. This was the case again yesterday, as we were surrounded all day with walls of windows - which afforded us an almost 360 degree, panoramic coign of vantage. There were a few near heart-stopping minutes for me though, as we were loading the truck, when I couldn't find my backpack. Fortunately, my buddy Ray found it on the truck - before it drove away - and all was once again well, in my little corner of the world.
