12/25/10 - "Christmas Morning Sky"

"Christmas Morning Sky"

When I woke up before sunrise, early this Christmas morning (after staying up to watch "It's A Wonderful Life" last night - for my first time ever!) the early morning sky was glorious, yet again. We've had a couple beautiful sunrises the last two mornings; but for tomorrow, they're now predicting heavy snow and potential blizzard conditions. I guess my short string of early morning sunrises is coming to an end.

I was editing, and preparing to post, one of the pictures from yesterday's dawning when I had to stop, grab my camera, and capture a dozen or so images from my back deck. Here's the shot from yesterday:

Originally, I had been considering posting a picture of our little 'Charley Brown' Christmas tree, which Sally picked up - and we decorated together - about two weeks ago. It's my first Christmas tree in over 10 years, excepting the little ceramic tree my parents sent me about 8 years ago (and which I hadn't even unpacked for the last three years.)

I also thought about re-posting a picture of Niagara Falls that I shot back in November, enlargements of which I had matted and framed and gave as Christmas gifts to my mom, Sally and my daughters.

          So, I compromised. Merry Christmas!
