3/21/11 - "That awkward, stony silence."

                                  "That awkward, stony silence."

This sculpture by Boaz Vaadia, is titled Asaf and Yo'ah, and is permanently situated outside the Time Warner Center South Tower.

I first photographed this sculpture in 2007, and a portion of a black and white version of that photo is what I use as my picture here on my blog. Today's version is from a re-shoot I did, in August of 2009.

Here's the original black and white image, from April of 2007:

"That awkward, stony silence." b+w version

I (very cleverly) originally called this picture Sculpture 1 - Close Up B+W, but that was two years before I came up with the much more inspired appellation That awkward, Stony Silence.
I personally prefer this earlier, black and white rendition over it's more colorful version, but I guess its just a matter of preference.
