"Bevier-Elting House #1 - New Platz, NY"
This stone house, which is one of seven houses along historic Huguenot Street in New Paltz, New York, is one of the oldest, continuously occupied houses in America. The original section of this home, which was built in 1698, is now in the center of the house as it stands today.
I have submitted this photograph, as well as yesterday's Picture of the Day, for inclusion in an upcoming All Media - Regional Juried Exhibition at Mill Street Loft in the neighboring city of Poughkeepsie, New York. Titled Our Towns, this exhibit will feature artwork focused on cities and towns of the Hudson Valley.
There are three other images I've submitted for consideration, and they'll appear on these pages as well, over the next two or three days. Then I'll return to finishing my series on Ganesha: Lord of Success. Maybe the good lord Ganesha will grant me some success with this second juried show I'm entering, as well as the first one - which open April 27th a little closer to home, at the Huntington Arts Council.
