"Underground Parking - Daylight's Going #3"
While this picture was taken only eight minutes later than yesterday's Picture of the Day, it's incredible how rapidly the colors of the darkening sky change and deepen. The other interesting thing about this image - to me, at least - is the streaking effect created by the lights from two passing cars, during this 15 second exposure. I don't know exactly why one of those streaks is a dashed instead of a solid line. The only two reasons I can think of are that maybe either the turning signal lights or the emergency flashers were on, or that the driver was tapping the brake pedal while passing by.
During my three previous shoots of this street scene, which were all on Sunday evenings, there wasn't nearly as much vehicular traffic as there was on this Friday the thirteenth evening. So trying to estimate when to start the 10 second timer, before the time exposure could begin, was mainly just a semi-educated guess.
This is the third of four photos from this series, and tomorrow I'll be the posting the fourth. It's of the same vantage, but after darkness falls.
