"Underground Parking - Daylight's Going #2"
"Christine's Granddaughter?"
So while shooting 20 frames of this scene yesterday the valet pulled this car, with its' fog lights ablaze, up to the bottom of the ramp at this parking garage on East 67th in Manhattan. A woman got in while I was ready to start the 10 second timer (which precedes the opening of the shutter, to allow the camera time to steady up, as it sat atop an 8' high stand) before the 10 second exposure would start. I took the chance that it would take her a while to get underway so that the car would remain stationary until the image was captured, and I got lucky!
Looking at this picture later the star filter-like effect (which is caused by using f22, the smallest aperture opening on my camera) lent a slightly demonic demeanor to the vehicle waiting to ascend to street level, as if maybe it's the granddaughter of Christine (from the novel and movie of the same name, by Stephen King) ready to run amok on Manhattan's Upper East Side.
