"Continuum"
A macro photograph from my commute home, while trying to stay awake on the train, on a late night ride earlier this week.
I've been traveling into Manhattan by train nearly every day for almost 30 years now, and some days it just feels like deja vu all over again; as if a good part of my life is a commuting continuum, with no days' ride feeling any different than any others; with only the present ride in focus, while all the others - both past and present - are just a blur.
On this particular nights' ride home, three days ago, I was fighting desperately to stay awake. I'd started killing time by reading a magazine, but when my eyes started growing heavy - with the danger of falling asleep and missing my station growing imminent - I switched to doing some housekeeping on my netbook. After finishing that chore though, and with three or four stops still to go before reaching Seaford, my destination, I pulled out my little Canon Digital Elph from its pouch on my belt and took a dozen or so exposures of what is now today's Picture of the Day.
