"Angels and Asps"
This is the third image in a series that I photographed at the Vanderbilt Mansion in Hyde Park, N.Y. I noticed this urn while touring the grounds of the mansion, two weeks ago tomorrow. While I didn't have time to take a guided tour of the interior, hopefully I'll be able to on a return visit there.
I had hoped to revisit this fabulous late 19th century residence on Saturday, before attending an Opening Reception at Mill Street Loft in Poughkeepsie, where two of my images were up for awards - in a juried exhibition there titled Our Towns - but we ran out of time.
