"Portrait - '53 Dodge B Series Pickup #3"
Another image from this photo essay on a derelict Dodge truck. I found this vehicle a week and a half ago, when I stopped at a nearby marina to take some shots of a boat storage rack, on a foggy afternoon in Seaford, NY. Seaford is on the south shore of Long Island. Situated thusly, when springtime winds are out of the south - coming off the still-cold Atlantic Ocean waters - we frequently get dense fog conditions.
Today's picture was taken last Saturday, a week after my initial visit, when I realized I didn't have enough information to identify this pickup. My initial photos were shot from behind the truck, and from that vantage I wasn't able to locate images that could pin down its year of manufacture. After taking a dozen or so shots, mainly from the front of the vehicle, I was easily able to find relevant info online.
It still amazes me, at times, how you can type nearly anything into that simple little box on Google, and almost instantly be put in touch with reams of information - right at your finger tips! It's almost magical how that small rectangle, on a web page that is virtually bare, can be a portal to nearly anything - and anywhere - one could imagine wanting to know more about. Now if only it could help find those mysteriously missing socks...
