"White Lake Mansion House #1"
This Greek Revival summer hotel - on the old Newburgh-Cochecton Turnpike (which is now known as the much-less-informative Route 17B) in White Lake, NY - was built in 1848 by David B. Kinne. It is in fact the oldest summer hotel still standing in Sullivan County!
This photo was taken on a brief reconnaissance mission (actually, it was a short escape from my cousins' 1st baby shower, which was being held across the road) with my old Canon PowerShot SD1000 - my carry-everywhere, nearly-always-with-me camera. After the shower Sally and I got my Canon 5D Digital SLR and its tripod out of the car and did a somewhat more extensive photo shoot, before returning home to Seaford. Here's a similar vantage, but shot with my much larger, full-featured 5D:
I've - very cleverly, I believe - titled this higher quality image:
"White Lake Mansion House #2"
I'll be posting a few more images of this same hotel over the next few days, and they'll all be as creatively titled as these two are.
