Another image from a boat ride to near the fishing piers, by parking lot #10 at Jones Beach State Park. The green arrow on the map linked to above shows the location of where this work boat was docked. I've no idea what entity owns the boat, or what purpose it serves, and I've only ever seen it there that one time - Sunday, May 8th of this year.
I was captivated by the strong, pure colors of and around the cabin, and they way they contrasted with the rich blacks of the hull and tires, which serve as fenders. The reflections in the little wavelets added a sense of depth to the composition.
This view was looking north, and the couple of houses just barely visible on the limited section of horizon in this photo are in Wantagh, NY - which was the name of the sachem (or chief) of the Merokee tribe, in 1647. He later became the sachem of the Montauk tribe from 1651 to 1658.
