"Crescent Moon at Sunset"
It is so sweet to finally possess a digital camera and lens that can capably capture an image such as this. One of my old Nikon film cameras could have done so just as well, but I have not used either of them in about 6 years. The near-instant gratification of shooting digitally, including being able to post and/or print images immediately after shooting them, was worth the long wait I had to endure.
This photo is from yesterday evening, when I was fortunate enough to return home early from work. I was crossing the ramp from the bulkhead to the front door of my house-barge when I noticed the new crescent moon, in a sky filled with scudding clouds, just after the sun had set in the west. Despite being exhausted from two nights of sleep deprivation, and a long days' work outside on Monday, I rushed inside for my camera and shot six exposures. This image was cropped from a horizontal photograph, and enhanced slightly via Photoshop. It's my first-ever upload of an evening sky with moon, and I look forward to being able to shoot more of these in the future.
