"Sunrise 9-3-10"
Sometimes, waking up early has its own rewards - especially when atmospheric conditions conspire to provide a sight like this. The incredible colors of this particular morning's sky; its reflected counterpart a re-interpretation, blurred ever so slightly by a light breeze - which elongates and transforms the pinpoints of light from park lamps into sodium vapor rivers of gold; intersected, with each part contrasted against and framed by a black isthmus of shoreline; to witness this fleeting vista is a gift.
I'm a very fortunate observer of many beautiful sunrises here, over the course of a year; each different from the other. And if the day comes when I no longer have access to this portal of sunrises, I'll at least have my photographic memories to savor; and I'll be grateful for the times I had.
