"Winter's Icy Grasp"
A day after returning to Fairfield last January, following our two day sojourn to see the 6 covered bridges of Madison County, an ice stormed transformed this city in southeastern Iowa into a landscape of magical and surrealistic images.
This photograph suggests the frozen claw of death; the not only grim, but frigid hand of the reaper who, with scythes of icicles as fingers, appears ready to place an unearthly cold grip on the shoulder of his next victim.
"Fairfield Ice Storm"
A final image from last January's ice storm in Iowa. This year, in New York, we've had more than our share of snow; but - excepting the blizzard on the day after Christmas - I've not had an opportunity to go on a wintry Long Island photo expedition just yet. That's good in one respect, as I've been too busy working to get the chance, in a month that can be slow work-wise; but it's not so good, on the other hand, because I've missed some prime snowy conditions. I'm hopeful that a day will soon come, when the weather and my work schedules cooperate with each other, as I haven't even picked up my camera in over a week.
