"Empire State Building from Bryant Park"
Only three more weeks till spring! In honor of its coming, after a long, cold, snowy winter here in New York, I decided to post this photo from the archives.
This picture was shot on May 7th in 2006, from Bryant Park - about 9 blocks due north of the Empire State Building. I had walked over there for lunch, during a day spent working at the Good Morning America studios on 44th and 7th. After eating my lunch at one of the small tables in the park, I put my feet up on an adjacent chair and took a short nap. When I woke up, this exact view is what I saw. At that time I was still using my Canon S230 Digital Elph, with only 3.2 megapixels. Without having to move at all, I was able to take the camera out of its pouch on my belt and capture this image.
