"Parallax Parking B+W"
This view is underneath the trestle that supports the Long Island Railroad Seaford Station, a place where I've shot a few good pictures over the last three years. For 20 years I used the Massapequa train station, one stop east from Seaford. But this is now "my" stop.
I've been eyeing this vista for a couple of days, and yesterday - the only day this week I didn't have my Canon 5D with me - I decided to take some preliminary shots, using my little old Canon point and shoot. It's what I used to capture many of the "oldie but goodie" images I've taken to posting here lately, as I've shot thousands of photos with it during the nearly five years I've owned it.
This is a black and white version that I derived from the full color original. Sally seemed to prefer this b+w picture over the color, so on her (luke-warm) recommendation I'm making it - temporarily, at least - today's Picture of the Day. Here's the full color version:
I like both images equally, but I'm not enthralled with either one. I shot some more variations today, with my 5D, and depending upon how they come out I'll either post one of them as tomorrow's PotD or, perhaps, update these two retroactively.
