"Ganesha: Lord of Success - #3"
I stumbled upon this statue, as well as three others, while driving on Montauk Highway in Southampton last Saturday. These four figures of Ganesha - who, as I learned today, is one of the five prime Hindu deities (the others being Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva and Durga) - serve as cornerposts for an elaborate, gated entryway to an enormous estate on the north side of the road.

But it must be somewhat old, as the entrance has been significantly improved since that picture was taken - as you can see from the pictures here today, and the others' I'll be posting over the next couple of days.
