     This 11th image of this ongoing series, on Vanderbilt Mansion in Hyde Park, NY., was photographed a short distance from the southern facade of - and entrance to - this 1898 country palace. Built by Frederick William Vanderbilt, who was the grandson of Cornelius "Commodore" Vanderbilt,  it was designed by the architectural firm of McKim, Meade and White.
