While photography is not allowed inside the actual house that the Floyd family resided in, for 250 years, the exteriors of the main house and the twelve outbuildings are considered to be in the public domain. They are thus fair game for picture-taking.
The blue-green structure, as reflected in this window from the main house, is now the Park Ranger office. It was originally a store room, connected to the kitchen of the six room house, which was initially constructed by Nicoll Floyd in 1724. It also served, for many years, as the caretaker's house.
